Does that thing have a twin turbo setup?!

I live in NE Ohio (close to the turnpike, even)
. The good is that gas is cheaper than PA (where I’m from) and that my job/house
is located here. Also there aren’t annual inspections, except everything <25 years old has to pass emissions
in this
county which is BS.
The other
bad is that the whole state is a speed trap and this area is very flat and unexciting.

It does, as far as I can tell. I bet the first time he stomped on it the truck cab slid backwards to where it is now.

I’m in the Dayton/Cincinnati area. AMA, I guess?

How does that thing steer? Is this rear-wheel steer, like a forklift? Or some awfully long steering shaft linkage?
And I suppose the radiator’s in the grille, isn’t it? With some long hoses (probably solid pipe for some of that distance) reaching back there?

What part of Ohio? I live in central Ohio. Overall, I like it (I did grow up here, afterall, but also lived in PA and TX for about 7 years combined). Lots to do, a lot of festivals and fairs and events, and diverse. But it’s also heavy with hipsters/millenials and microbrews, and then as soon as you get outside of downtown and through suburbia, it’s all country-folk wishing they were in the deep south, driving monster trucks and only talking about fishing, cabins, and living off the land.

Don’t get rear ended.......... Don’t get rear ended ............ Don’t get rear ended .............. Don’t get rear ended ............ Don’t get rear ended ................
Yea, this doesn’t see like it would be fun to drive.

Lived next to Ohio for many years. They have King’s Island, which balances out Cleveland, I guess.

No place in particular yet. Trying to find a good and safe place to raise my family that doesn’t have such a high cost of living and isn’t an arid desert. I’m in the software dev. industry.

Toledo native. N.W. Ohio has many things going for it. Reasonable housing prices, ease of commuting, top ranked museum, minor league ball park
and zoo, as well as Lake Erie and Cedar Point. Local fairs and festivals are great, with many rural
county fairs being really good.
It is pretty flat topography, so not that interesting of a driving experience, but the
Hocking Hills area is less than three hours away, and offers some of the best driving roads in America (Car & Driver regularly tests their cars there). Of course, we have our share of problems. D
ecaying inner city housing, concentrations of the poor/minorities, and crumbling infrastructure
. But things are generally on the upswing, with more and more people moving into the downtown area, with many new businesses,
restaurants and other entertainment areas opening up.

Can’t speak for the rest of the state (aside from ensuring to stay away from Cleveland and Dayton), but overall Columbus is a good, safe place, with a lot of opportunity for those in the computer science field. There are, of course, some less desirable areas, but also some very nice areas, and a mix of the in-between that are good areas with good schools, safe, but also not crazy expensive. Stay away from Upper Arlington, Westerville, D ublin, and New Albany if you don’t want to pay a fortune (though they are great places to visit!).

NE Ohio Oppo, along with MM54. Deal Killer’s points pretty much ring true throughout the entire state. The cost of living is great, plus there’s tons of history, world-class museums, and lots of green space to explore. Inner cities are victims of the decline of manufacturing in the 70s through 90s, but are rebuilding. I’ve lived in NW, SW, and NE Ohio over the course of my 43 years, and I love it.
Regarding the topography of the state, there’s terrain to keep your interest as long as you’re not in NW Ohio...that’s just glaciated-flat. Oddly enough, that’s also the home of the highest point in the state.

Yeeeeeep. And I’ve been in rural parts of central Ohio all of my life...
